The minutes from the April, 2009 board meeting show that Basics are allowed to intubate using the King Air LTD airway when properly trained. Any department desiring to utilize that skill needs to download this signed letter of position from the board and insert it into your protocol. THERE ARE NO CHANGES IN THE PROTOCOL FOR 2010 AS OF 1/27/10 There are no changes in the protocol for the second half of 2009. This is the latest version of the protocol. As of January 1, 2009, the newest version of the protocol is version v2009a that says approved November 26, 2008, v2009a on the front. If your squad does not have a copy of this latest protocol, download either the v2009a changes from version 2008b, or the entire version 2009a protocol below. There should be a copy of the protocol in each squad. There are 13 page changes including a couple additions to the protocol. Please review all changes with all EMS personnel in your department. The protocol is a living document and is subject to changes. Administrative changes take place at the beginning of each year. Any additional drugs necessary are added both at the beginning of the year and in June. The board has also included a way for the protocol to be changed other than January and July if neccesary.
